5 Keys to understanding SEO

If you have a website, you have probably heard the term SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation before. In fact, you've probably had a dozen emails or phone calls from people telling you they can "get you on the first page of Google". In general terms, SEO refers to helping your website rank well for particular search terms, and it's a key component of Search Engine Marketing. Today, we  briefly look at 5 simple keys that will help you better understand SEO so you can start to think about implementing it for your own website.

When it comes to advertising or promoting your business on social media, it can be a bit of a mine field. If you're like many businesses, you might have a Facebook page, or you may choose to advertise occasionally, but how do you know where to really target your ideal market. Luckily, we have some answers, thanks to The Pew Research Center who released some helpful strategies recently.

Peter Drucker, a leading Austrian-born American Management Consultant, once said: "The aim of marketing is to know and understand your customer so well, the product or service fits him and sells itself." Having been in business for a while now, I've seen and worked with businesses that are at all different stages of the Business Lifecycle, from startups to second generation companies and everything in between. One thing that I've noticed is that the businesses that have a very good understanding of who their customer is, are the ones that survive.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you're probably aware that Social Media Marketing, is a vital component of any small business marketing strategy. In the last few years, we have seen a huge surge in advertising on social platforms in Australia, and this trend is set to continue throughout 2017 and beyond. If you're one of many Aussie businesses who have yet to take the plunge into the world of Social Media, then you need to jump in. But, where do you start? This is a question I get asked often by my clients, so I've put together my list of 6 Social Media Hacks to boost your online presence.

Today I had a call from a client who had engaged the "services" of a so-called digital agency who had promised to build them a new website, get them ranking well in Google Search and build them a social media presence - all for the amazing price of only $600. Sadly, despite paying this, the website never came and their credit card was hit with further charges.

5 Tips to Get More Engagement on Facebook

One of the things I get asked often from clients is, “How do I get more engagement on Facebook?” I generally find my clients are pretty good at posting reasonably frequently; they may even get a comment or two, but what they are really saying is, “I don’t think I’m getting much out of social, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.”
